I found this video when I was looking for more stop motion videos. I really loved the video done with stop motion in the bed so I looked up that video and browsed the rest of them. This is another really cool one and I think it's great how the person is actually looking at the viewer through most of the video. I also really liked how they incorporated lots of different settings to put the stop motion into.

Senior Art Show2
Today I was able to go and see the second senior art show and I was extremely impressed. One of the first pieces that caught my eye was also one of the largest pieces showcased. It consisted of two wooden sculptures, one of a man and one of a woman. Coming from their heads in a high arc was pieces of what looked like steel all meshed together. I think that this piece was outstanding and very interesting. I also loved how you could get close to each of the wooden pieces, so you could see all of the markings in the wood, and how you could walk between them under the arch, which really made it seem like you could interact with the art. Another interesting piece was what I though was at first just a wooden house. It had four walls and a couple of windows, and a door. As I went around the house to take a look I saw that you could actually enter the house. When you went inside it featured a life like sculpture of a traffic light. Again, I loved how you were ale to interact with the art and really explore what it is meant to represent. I also really enjoyed the acrylic paintings that were shown upstairs. In total there were four paintings by the artist. The way that the artist was able to manipulate the picture made it extremely life like and from far away they looked liked regular printed photos. As you got closer, you could see all of the brush strokes and layers of paint on the canvas. All of these pieces of artwork really inspired me and got me excited for when I am a senior and I have developed my own artistic abilities.

Art Event: Exit Through the Gift Shop
The film “Exit through the Gift Shop” ended up being really surprising to me. In the beginning of the movie, I think most viewers got an idea of what the film would entail. We were introduced to a French filmmaker. He seemed a bit eccentric, but I know I personally took it as dedication and love for what he was doing. When he started filming different street artists he again just seemed like he was following a passion and being an admirer. He let us see amazing street artists at work, something we are usually not lucky enough to see. I have always wondered exactly how these artists pull off their artwork. It showed many different types of street art, including graffiti art, putting up mosaic tiles like Space Invader, gluing large pieces of paper to the wall, and even putting many layers of paint on the walls like the artist Swoop did.
During this part of the movie, I felt I had a basic understand for where it was going. Terry had finally come in contact with the famous Banksy and seemed like he was going to finally be able to make his documentary. However, we start to see that Terry had never organized his tapes, and when we were given a look at what he came up with for a film, it was a bit surprising. I completely agreed with what Banksy said about the film Terry made. It seemed at though it was just a bunch of action trailers all pasted together for 90 minutes. We only got to see a few minutes of what Terry created but I know I personally would not be able to sit through 90 minutes of that.
At this point, I really start to understand what a lot of film was getting at. Banksy took the film from Terry with the intent of re creating the documentary. In the meantime, Banksy told Terry to go created some artwork of his own. Terry took this advice to a whole new level and ended up creating a studio and even hiring other artists. When Terry was showing the work that he did I couldn’t help but notice how alike his work was to other artist’s. Seeing this really made me wonder if Mr. Brainwash could even be considered an artist. In actuality, he was taking other works he has seen, and not only is he changing them, but he is usually just telling his hired artists what to change about them. In his spray-paint tomato soup can, I was even more shocked to see what he did. Not only did he take the idea from the artist Andy Warhol, but also that artist created it from someone else’s artwork that was put on the can. So in the end, Mr. Brainwash took and changed an artist’s artwork that had already been taken and changed. I believe that overall, the movie left viewers with one question: Is Mr. Brainwash an artistic genius? Or are the people who spent so much money on his artwork just gullible?

I found this pretty cool list on some things students should keep in mind when going through their career. I don't know if all of them are exactly accurate, because I am only a student. However, it seems to have a lot of good information and a good source to look back to when looking for internships and jobs.

Really cool video!!! Awesome combination of painting and graphics.... it looks like they use over 5 different types of media and the outcome looks amazing. I myself am a huge fan of sharpie markers and the way they use them is really interesting. I find this really inspiring to me and I love what they came up with.
