Today I was able to go and see the second senior art show and I was extremely impressed. One of the first pieces that caught my eye was also one of the largest pieces showcased. It consisted of two wooden sculptures, one of a man and one of a woman. Coming from their heads in a high arc was pieces of what looked like steel all meshed together. I think that this piece was outstanding and very interesting. I also loved how you could get close to each of the wooden pieces, so you could see all of the markings in the wood, and how you could walk between them under the arch, which really made it seem like you could interact with the art. Another interesting piece was what I though was at first just a wooden house. It had four walls and a couple of windows, and a door. As I went around the house to take a look I saw that you could actually enter the house. When you went inside it featured a life like sculpture of a traffic light. Again, I loved how you were ale to interact with the art and really explore what it is meant to represent. I also really enjoyed the acrylic paintings that were shown upstairs. In total there were four paintings by the artist. The way that the artist was able to manipulate the picture made it extremely life like and from far away they looked liked regular printed photos. As you got closer, you could see all of the brush strokes and layers of paint on the canvas. All of these pieces of artwork really inspired me and got me excited for when I am a senior and I have developed my own artistic abilities.
